With a fifth judge presiding over the case and the fourth trial in 11 years, Cal Harris sat in the courtroom once again, and this time chose a bench trial in an effort to expedite things.

The prosecution brought forth a new witness, Gregory Farr, who took the stand claiming that while incarcerated with Cal at Auburn Correctional Facility, Between trials two and three, he allegedly heard the accused threaten another prisoner by saying, I'll make you disappear like I made my wife disappear.

But in the middle of his testimony, Gregory suddenly invoked his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to answer any more questions.

He later claimed that the private investigator who worked for Cal's lawyer called his family the weekend before the trial and told them, that it would not be in his best interest to testify.

He served out the rest of his sentence deaf, brain damaged, owed five years of wages he would never receive.

He walked out of Auburn Prison on September 20, 1845.

Few people recognized him.

For five and a half months, Freeman tried to get paid.

He was sentenced to death.

On October 29th, 1901, less than two months after the shooting, Leon was executed in the electric chair at Auburn Prison.
