Attack the Block

Which is funny, because they stopped doing something like that, and then they brought that back for certain movies.

One that reminds me of, I think it was a 2000s movie, Attack the Block.

They had dudes in like suits, like just really simple suits, and they CGI'd over them to add more detail.

And it was actually really well done in that movie.

I feel like they didn't want to pick a lane.

If they could have went more towards Attack the Block with this horror comedy, that would have made more sense to me.

If Or even lean into, well, humans are the real monsters.

Yeah, you could have gone that way very easily here.

Attack the Block from 2011-

Yes

... is really fun.

But it looked really wild and otherworldly and effective.

You know what it reminded me of in that sense? The creatures in Attack the Block, the way they were just a really imaginative use of a very simple effect that you could sort of picture how they did it, but you still had to be creative to come up with that.

So I thought this movie was full of those kind of touches.

Like I said, it was a little languid.

Allow it.

If Attack the Block, if they all had that voice, it would have been a way worse movie.

Oh, hey, allow it, bruv.

But it was on Netflix for a while.

And I remember just sitting there scrolling through stuff and I was like, attack the block.

That sounds interesting.

And when you look at the poster, you're like, okay, this looks like almost like Goonies defending the block, right? Like that's what it looks like.

I don't remember, but yeah, there was a lot of stuff that these guys went on to have careers probably because of this movie, because this movie got a lot of praise.

even as bad as it is.

I do remember that these people, a lot of people were like attack the blocks.

Great.
