Atlantic Center for the Arts

The festival is also presented by Monster Energy.

Principal sponsors include Captain Lou's, Olukai, Roark Apparel, Salty Dog Vacations, Surf Cinema, Yeti, Wagner the Lawyer Dude, and Atlantic Center for the Arts.

We also have a film fest coming up on September 4th and 5th with Kolohe Andino in attendance with his new movies from, uh, Stecco called Fudo.

That's on Friday night.

But if you go back to, oh my gosh, this would have been the summer of 2022.

If you go back to that review episode, that's when I talk about I was invited to be like a resident artist in a residency with the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

And that was a residency I did with Dr. Phil Yule.

You can find his episode of the podcast in the show notes.

Her debut poetry collection, Hum, won the Backwaters Prize in Poetry.

Sanam has also received scholarships from Kundiman, Tin House, the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, Poets and Writers, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the Fine Arts Work Center, the Watering Hole, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Thomas J. Watson Foundation.

Sanam lives in Philadelphia, where she teaches creative writing at Haverford College.

So about a month away.

And I'm not sure which films they're going to be showing yet or screening, but it's at the older venue, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, which is where it's traditionally run.

But the last two years or so, they did it at the Daytona Beach College, which is a bigger venue.

And, you know, I'd say more professional in certain ways, but it lost some of its intimacy.

Yeah.

It really did, yeah.

And I like both venues, but I'm thrilled to be going back to the Atlantic Center for the Arts.

But note to, dear listener, if you are in Florida and planning to attend, the Daytona Beach venue did not, or I think theoretically could have sold out, but would have had to have been a giant crowd.
