Asset of community value

So several pe- well, if we cast our minds back actually 10 years, um, if you can cast your mind back that far, um, and if you can't, then just cast your mind back five years.

Uh, and we, we all heard the phrase Asset of Community Value, ACV, 'cause we love an acronym, don't we? And this was something at that time that the Glovers Trust had, um, had taken out, uh, on the, uh, stadium, Jewish Park Stadium, and the land surrounding it.

And what it was effectively is a, it's a, a, a kind of a, a safeguard, I think, that you can register an interest in a building.

So in, in other cases, this could be a post office, it could be a pub or something like that.

And in this case, the community is all of you lot listening because you are the Yeovil Town community.

So, uh, the reason that you might remember it from five years ago was when our former owner, insert bleep here, um, set the wheels in motion to sell the stadium and surrounding land to what was then South Somerset District Council.

Um, the Glovers Trust activated a, um, asset of community value, uh, registration, which basically meant that they got a delay of six months on that, um, uh, that sale.

So the sale couldn't go through straight away.
