Ashmore Estates

At least at the time, they were very little known.

Like I wrote a whole chapter about ashmore estates in coles county which has become you know huge like internationally known in some cases but i wanted to do a really in-depth look at at all those sites and uh there are two in there from lake county i know you mentioned uh that you wanted to talk about Lake County a little bit.

But yeah, the two main ones were Cuba Road and the Independence Grove up in Libertyville, the Devil's Gate, as they call it.

And that's another one that was very obscure when I wrote about it.

Because I had heard about that legend, and I started digging through local newspapers and found the actual historic event behind it.

So that was pretty interesting.

And you talk about Ashmore Estates, or you mentioned it.

Can you tell us a little bit more about that?

So I left it there.

So any Ouija board that's at Ashmore Estates, you're welcome.

I don't not believe in Ouija boards.

I mean, it's just like any other divination tool.

The buildings change, but the death remains.

Thousands of people have lived, worked, or simply visited this land over the years, and some of them can't seem to leave the Ashmore Estates.

Tell me more about the Ashmore Estates.

So firstly, I'd like to say most of the information that I'm going to give you about the estates comes from their website.

Um, I was just starting out.

I think I'd only been to maybe two or three major investigations, and this one we was gonna go to Ashmore Estates, and I had watched a lot, you know, of the TV shows of Ashmore Estates.

I did a lot of research, and just knowing the backstory of this place, the fire, you know, the murders, the people that would unalive themselves, just all the terrible things that happened there.

And going there, 'cause we had to drive from Ohio to Illinois to get to be there.

I don't know if it was because I was there and I was actually seeing it for the first time or what, but I just remember that I was like, "Oh my God.

We're actually here.

We're actually at Ashmore Estates." And I remember looking in the windows, and I'm like, "Man, I wonder if I'll see anything," you know? And, you know, I remember watching shows.

They were like, "Oh, there's something in the basement." We get there, and we're looking around the building and everything, and the doors to the basement, I mean, to the bottom part was open.

We were talking about, um, our Twitch streams that we do on Sundays, right? We were talking about possibly doing a commentary on Asher or Ashmore Estates.

And then June 13th, Ashmore estates in Illinois.

So, so far that's all I've got really planned.

Um, you know, I've had several conversations with...

And I know you've talked to Robin, and he's like, "There's nothing evil here." I'm like, "I know." But, you know, Ash- Ashmore Estates has always been a, uh, uh, just, I don't know.

It's just such a great place to go to.

And I went down there to help do a, a f- fall cleanup back in November.
