Ashley River

And then over on James Island, we've got Riverland Terrace.

We've got the country clubs and some of those neighborhoods along the Ashley River off of Harborview Road.

The grand model was a form of government prepared by Lord Shaftesbury and John Locke for the colonies and attempted at the settlement of the Ashley River in South Carolina.

It aimed to divide the wilderness into vast baronial estates with hereditary titles and all the gaudy trappings of an ideal feudal aristocracy.

The people were too democratic in ideas to warrant its success, and the plan was abandoned.
