My memory is like a wizened 38-year-old.

He's an Ashley Barnes.

He had a tough post round.

I don't know what it is.

But yeah, he definitely went early.

He'd dream of the career Ashley Barnes has had post-30, Robbie Fowler would.

And finally, and we'll talk about this in more depth, but win in the Cup on Thursday or win in the league on Sunday?

They signed Ben Amos in the summer.

They re-signed Ashley Barnes.

And then they put Neva in the 25-man squad.

What was the point? And I think that just sort of sums up The lack of joined up thinking at this football club and Burnley are in a lot of trouble right now.

A big crisis, and it needs sorting.

I don't see many leaders, you know, you can say all you want about your Connor Roberts and your Ashley Barnes and your Josh Laurent, they're fucking silent again.

And I'll be interested to see if they're doing any post-match interviews again, because that'll be the third consecutive week now where players haven't spoken up, you know.

I can't remember if they did after Wrexham.

I won't because we don't want to double up on Bournemouth.

Um, and I, and I think with, uh, with that, it's difficult.

It's, it's worth noting as well that, um, there's a lot of f- frustration around Burnley to the point where, uh, Josh Cullen, Ashley Barnes, and Jamie Vardy all traveled with the squad, and the Burnley socials made sure that the fans knew about it to support the team.

I just thought that was a bizarre, and I think there's thing- things are that low at the minute they're needing to roll out, [laughs] roll out the old boys, um, is, uh, yeah, it's just where they're at.

And, and with Wrexham, I am getting more concerned about them not being able to get wins over the line.

Michael Obafemi is one of them.

I mean, he's 36 and was awarded a new contract in the summer.

Mike Trezise, who's played, what? Pr- he, he's played a half-decent amount of games since coming in, uh, since 2023.

You know, it looks that way, and it, you know, it does speak to perhaps some, some stuff going off behind the scenes that we don't know about.

You know, Barnes signing a new deal and then not even being in a squad.

I mean, so w- how does that line up and, and add up? And is that the new manager coming in and, and having no say over him having a contract but then realizes that he doesn't want him a part, and then all of a sudden you're pulling in different directions? Ashley Barnes is a bit of a club legend and, and he's a veteran you would think still has a role to play, but he's not in the squad, but yet they bring in a 39-year-old Jamie Vardy and, and stuff like that.

It doesn't, it doesn't look sort of like really clear, clear thinking, but I still think that, that Jamie Vardy is a, is a good signing, by the way.

No Ben Amos, which again is probably not the most surprising.

But the ones that stand out perhaps are the lack of Marcus Edwards, um Mike Trezor which is roughly probably about 30 million euros worth of talent in terms of transfer fees paid or Ashley Barnes so you're probably looking at the thick end of about 70 grand 70 grand a week's worth of wages there um There is room, I should say, for Andres Antongi and another.

What's your thoughts on that squad? I mean, we obviously have a bloated squad and you're never going to be able to please everybody.

We've shipped a couple out, but not many.

But more often than not, it's the goals that get you promoted.

I'm not saying Barnes is going to score you 20 goals a year.

And I'd love to see, by the way, a Jamie Vardy, Ashley Barnes striker for us at a cumulative age of about 75.

Just once.

I, I could have done with a s- uh, do with a season of championship wages.

Oh, I'd love to see you and Ashley Barnes up front together.

Is he still there? That would be wonderful.
