And now when I sit down with my committee, I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but what they agreed to let me do is.

was to work at the workforce participation rates for Northeast Kentucky, for two particular counties, Boyd and Greenup, which are the metro area around Ashland, Kentucky.

Now I spent 10 years working that market, economic development, running the regional organization there.

So I knew the region well.

All that means is, are you investing yourself in learning? Are there things around you that will support you and help you be successful? And at the very, very end, the thing that you train for, the thing that you aspire to, the job, is it good enough that someone actually will go through the effort to get there? So that's three cliff note versions of the theories.

But when we apply them, We had to look historically at the region.

And 70 years ago, 50 years ago, Ashland looked a lot different.

There was a steel mill there that had 7,500 employees.
