Asbury University

I saw it as I was walking up from the train station at the, to the Novotel around the corner yesterday, just in the atmosphere, in the faces, in the people.

But I think I saw it most that I've ever known in my life three and a half years ago in what Tim was referring to in this outpouring that happened at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.

Now, Kentucky is probably a place that very few, if any of you all [laughs] have been to.

It's sort of a drive through, flyover kind of place in the United States.

So consecration to God from the heart because we love him and we're separated to God.

And then during the outpouring at Asbury University in 2023, at the beginning of it, there was a lot of repentance and I wasn't feeling much, but it was really easy to pray.

But after a couple days, it shifted to an emphasis on worship.

And I felt, one of the things I felt, I mean, you could feel God's presence spontaneously a block away.

Reverence for the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge.

But that it would spread that the nation would experience what we call revival or awakening.

Actually, when I came to Asbury, that was one of the things I was looking forward to.

The school where I was, I loved it, and we had a passion for justice, but I knew at Asbury there was a tradition, at least, of valuing holiness.

Next week, I will be in Kentucky with Ari doing another film screening book talk.

And I'm also, I will be at Asbury University, which is solidly evangelical.

I'm shocked that, but I have like a personal in and this place, I hope I don't get my friends fired, you know, because they've put this whole thing together.

And so, and Ari and I, we, you know, It is our goal to be mildly subversive, of course, but not to be offensive.

Obviously, we do see showers, if you will, where the Spirit is falling in different locations.

My own home state of Kentucky, just a few years ago, there was a widespread outbreak at Asbury University.

It had had one many years ago.

There seemed to be another one here more recently, and it seemed genuine.

Like, same product, the way we're coming in, this looks different.

Like we've had to make some adjustments for how that's worked out, right? It's like we have this concept of a promo code, which funny enough doesn't even discount pricing on our paywall, but we built it so that an org can say, we have a code, hey, 200 students, go use this, right? Asbury University is a huge university, really proud and honored that honored, not proud that they've decided to partner with us.

They purchased 200 student or licenses for their student leaders.

And I presented to them in Wilmore, Kentucky a couple of weeks ago, and we got 150 redemptions right now on that, right then on that code that was already covered, right? And everything is tying back into RevenueCat, which even RevenueCat is like, this is such an obscure use case that we need to build for, but we were able to figure it out.

Hey, we have a redemption infrastructure in place.

Hey, we're building like we have an admin platform.

where an org can log in as the Asbury University and see how many students are using this.

How many rules have they created? How many of them have an accountability partner? How many students? None of them will know who the students are, right? It's all anonymity, privacy.

Yeah, well, I came to Jesus.

I really began to understand who He was when I was a student at Asbury College.

Yeah.

Just loved learning about him and very much wanted to live for him.

Not so long ago, in this the 21st century, we witnessed the faith of 19 college students.

Like the first fires of great awakening in this century, at Asbury University right there in little Wilmore, Kentucky.

And I do not exaggerate when I say that their faith was reported all over the world.

Well, how about we pray? You see, the Word of God gives us revelation.

Horse country.

It is where Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary are, if that even rings a bell at all.

Yeah, it does.

Yeah, so that's where that is.
