Asatru Folk Assembly

It is a, um, foundational event for the AFA along the East Coast.

That was the big event that started it all with the transcontinental expansion of the Ásatrú Folk Assembly.

Um, it's a longstanding event, and it's something that, um, our current leadership at Frace-off, the Eriksens, have been such a very big part of over the years.

So I'm looking forward to that.

As I've said a number of times on here, at present, the biggest hurdle for the growth of Ásatrú and the Ásatrú Folk Assembly is that so many of our folk that should be here doing this with us don't know that we exist.

So that is, you know, unfortunate, but it's also a tremendous opportunity that I know so many people would love to come home to their native faith if they only knew about it.

You need a story that flatters its believers, an enemy to blame, and a place where saying it out loud feels normal.

In Cult Watch this week, I'm highlighting the Asatru Folk Assembly, or AFA.

The AFA says it's a church that's bringing back the old Norse gods, and it's legally recognized as one, but this isn't ordinary modern paganism, which is peacefully practiced by people of all backgrounds.

The AFA is what researchers call folkish, Norse religion that only belongs to people of Northern European ancestry, AKA whites only.
