You gotta remember, the Steelers team last year missed a ton of tackles.

On that back end, how does that change what they want to get done defensively?

Well, Asante Samuel Jr. will be the one who steps right in for Joey, just as he did in week one.

And, you know, Samuel, you know, his dad was a really good player.

You guys know about that.

He had three picks in the first half of a playoff game before.

Of course, Steelers want their corners to tackle.

That's never been Asante Samuel Jr.'s strength, but man, he can make some plays on the ball.

Now, the Steelers ran a lot of zone.

Brown, with A.J. Brown, you're thinking, man, we would need Joey Porter Jr. to match up with A.J. Brown.

But with A.J. Brown on injured reserve, is Asante Samuel Jr. going to be just fine if that's what they have to rely on again?

I think so.

I think if Joey Porter doesn't play, it'll be much more about a bigger conversation, you know, than like we don't necessarily need Joey Porter because they've taken him off the injury list.

But this is another, and we talked about this yesterday, Vince, you're probably going to play a lot of zone anyway against Drake May.

And I'm not saying that to say Joey Porter Jr. can't, but I think that definitely accentuates strengths for Dean and Asante Samuel Jr. playing in those zone schemes.

Well, yeah, we just know, we just found out that Drake May's weakness is the too high structure playing zone behind it.

I also think it plays, it's a benefit for us too because we play man-to-man.

To me, they have the pieces around to do it.

Asante Samuel, Jamel Dean, Jaquan Brisker, a lot of those guys have been guys that have been turnover-heavy guys.

Even PQ, who really hasn't had a lot of turnovers with the Steelers, with the Ravens, was a havoc wreaker.

And any time to me, you have a defense that has T.J. Watt on it.

The last thing I want to talk about is I think the Steelers are not in bad shape at cornerback this year without Joey Porter Jr.

Obviously, the future becomes much more questionable.

But I think Asante Samuel is a very good player.

He was the best player all training camp.

To me, they have the pieces around to do it.

Asante Samuel, Jamel Dean, Jaquan Brisker, a lot of those guys have been guys that have been turnover heavy guys.

And so that's a spot, you know, either Porter's out there and you can pick on the other guy or Porter's not out there and you can probably pick on both of them.

So that could be advantage Patriots.

Just put it into perspective, how much of an impact will he have on that defense if he's not there?

Well, you know, he is one of the better press man corners in the league, but the Steelers, part of the reason why I think they're playing hardball with him is they like Asante Samuel Jr. He's a guy that's Has been a starter for four years in the league.

He had spinal fusion surgery a little over a year ago, and that kind of set him back.

But he's returned to play like a starting caliber player, and he kind of fits in the Patrick Graham defense.

So you've kind of got control over him until he's age 28 season.

And then you've got Asante Samuel Jr., who also had a great comeback.

Exactly.
