Arthur Stace

I want to tell you the story about a World War I Australian soldier.

His name was Arthur Stace.

He became an alcoholic, led a terrible, hopeless life.

Then one day he got saved in a church in Sydney, and his life was utterly transformed.

And we're going to brand the word eternity.

As a tribute to the late Arthur Stace, a man who scrawled the word eternity over a half a million times with chalk around the streets of Sydney.

Every time he wrote that word, he prayed and asked that the Lord would remind people of their eternal

destiny.

Uh, you know, Mr. ...

You're familiar with Mr. Eternity? Uh, the fella who used to go around writing Eternity, uh, Arthur Stace.

And, um, he was, um, evidently he was a drunkard by the time he was 14.

Unbelievable.

There's got to be more.

I think that's probably what captured the hearts of Sydney with Arthur Stace scrawling eternity all over the place.

And the Sydney Harbour Bridge on on New Year's Eve, on the year 2000.

That is, we know that there's something else.

Yeah, it's like that man years and years ago that went around early mornings writing eternity all over Sydney.
