Arthur Masuaku

But if they do go to a three-man central defense, the left and right defenders will probably push up to become wingers there.

Okay, well, candidate-wise, we have two candidates who at the end of March we considered definite candidates, Joris Kayembe and Arthur Masuaku.

there, and both of them are selected for the squad.

So, let's take a look at the candidates here.

He had been a definite candidate coming into the 2025 African Cup, was selected for the final squad, but was started as a substitute in games one and two, but then gained the starting position there.

I think that's why we put him ahead of Joris Kayembe now, because he seems slightly more likely as the starter, or at least did at that time.

uh but in the march 2026 game he was a substitute uh there uh anyway he is selected for the squad and we'll talk about the uh starter predictions a bit later uh the other candidate here is arthur masuaku with congo dr since 2018 uh 44 caps and four goals for him he is 32 years old and with Sunderland in England since 2025 but actually on loan to Lens in France since 2026.

He's been loaned out quite a bit by Sunderland actually with No, I'm sorry, I just have a mistake in my notes here.

Not too many really presentable opportunities.

Stewart had a couple of shots, um, which Masuaku did brilliantly to, um, divert away from the target.

Be- Bach helping out his keeper.

And a brilliant goal.

They're not showing the consistency of last season.

Um, Masuaku not getting the returns like before.

Charles Cook, underwhelming.

Um, got Lowry just now.

Um, at the moment they just, they can't seem to buy a win, um, very poor at the same time.

I talked last week about having a Motherwell hangover, you know, sort of they over-performed last season, and you're kinda trying to hang on to that.

I think if you've got Longelo, if you've got Masuaku, I would cash them in, uh, straight away because they're, they're just not doing it.

Uh, and okay, they played Celtic and, and just caught Celtic on a better day.
