Art exhibition

We ran over after your DJ set.

Just DJing and going to art shows and art openings.

What year is this? 2010? Yeah.

We're in our 20s for sure.

It's amazing to have family and like family that enjoys the children that are in the vicinity to be able to help babysit is amazing.

It's a helpful thing.

It allows you to go running around on Saturdays like you're in your 20s from DJs, sets, art shows.

Wait till they're old enough to babysit themselves.

We'll tell stories, we'll hear from some of the best, and we'll try to figure this out together.

And how do you select your international art shows? How do you know which ones...

I know sometimes, I remember when I was talking to you a few days ago, you mentioned that there was some art show that you went to which you were very disappointed with.

I won't name the art show, but you said it didn't go as well as you thought it would.

Who knows? You cannot see the future.

But always it's a positive experience.

Of course we are really grateful about all the art shows and the committees.

from the ushers that has accepted us in the past and of course in terms of profit and loss sometimes it's not goes as good as you expect

I mean, obviously you have to have a, a body of work.

But I think I started off with, uh, you know, doing juried fine art shows around the country, usually just in, in my local area, but then I expanded to, to throughout the Americas and, uh, I, I did that for about 20 years.

[laughs] Oh, man.

Um, you, you s- you told in, in another interview that you recently found a bunch of your old three by five prints.

You know, when I was-

Uh-huh

... doing the art shows, I had a lot of prints and, and, you know, that was, uh...

I, I had a lot of friends that were in the art show business, and I, I joined forces with two other photographers.

uh right now we've got another one for the cathedral here but this came across my desk and this is a really very special i've just actually seen all the photos for this a very special art exhibition that is going to be on display at guild cathedral now It showcases artwork created by men at HMP Coldingley, which is in Surrey, and highlights the profound impact that creative expression can have on prisoners, their families and the wider community.

Creating art within a prison environment presents unique challenges, but the works in the exhibition demonstrate the possibilities that emerge when people are given the opportunity for creativity, reflection and self-expression.

And by bringing these works into Guildford, to the Cathedral, Transformations invites the wider community to encounter the artists through their creativity and to reflect on questions of human dignity, forgiveness, hope, and transformation.

就是可能你在 art fair，你，你，你，你可能见到一张画，你就想，啊，真的看这个画面美不美，啊，这个颜色是不是适合，适合我，或者它在表达什么，就是是一个意念的传达来的。但是我呢，可能会想，啊，为什么他这幅画要用油画画，这幅画要用水彩画，这幅画要用 acrylic 画，就是这样的一个思维模式的。

所以变相，我，我好，好难呢再去想，就，就是当你有了这个这样的想法之后呢，你很难回头的，这样。那么所以，就在那个过程之中呢，我就开始，欸，试一下不要画画了，因为不太知道，就是不太知怎么画下去，同埋觉得，欸，好像自己都不是很懂其他东西，除了画画之外，那就开始去试其他东西了。

And while I was doing it, it was like, some of the junk inside of me, some of the dirt and the filth washed away from me.

And they're having an art show tomorrow at Noto.

And my art piece will be hanging up on the wall.

Intersection to Care's first ever public art show opened on my second night in Topeka.

Everyone was planning to be there, the Rotary members and a lot of the women they'd helped get settled in the community.

I couldn't wait to see everyone's work on display.

It's dominated by a thick purple cross you can see from the other side of the room, with splotches of red and black and gold, and a layer of glitter.

It feels like a demand to be taken seriously.
