Art Attack

I don't want anyone to take mine.

Yeah, so growing up, my favourite show was Art Attack.

I literally used to rush home so that I could watch it and I used to make so many things at home, just DIY stuff.

I remember asking my parents, like, could you get me this glue, get me some toilet tissue, some paper and just putting things together and making all sorts of stuff and...

I remember the joy that I felt when I just finished creating it and I just had that thing in my hand and I just thoroughly enjoyed Art Attack.

My favourite childhood TV show was also Horrible Histories and I think it's so funny looking back because I never thought I was learning.

I never thought to myself, oh, this is history.

Like an element of like, "And this is a match you'll see, and this is a match you'll see.

This is Art Attack."

Um, and then I also love the big Art Attack at the end where-

I'll have people that come up to me and bring me like a case of beer or some muffins, you know, and then I have some people who come up to me and be like, wow, I liked it better before as just a brick wall.

You know what this piece reminded me of? It reminded me of this show I used to watch on TVO called Art Attack.

And Art Attack featured Neil, who's an incredible artist.

And he would make these big art attacks where he would kind of like go anywhere, take anything, any kind of like materials from clothing and pieces of wood and all kinds of random scraps and bits.

or he would go outdoors into grass or paint on walls or all kinds of stuff.

And it was marvelous.

He looked like a young, uh, Neil Buchanan to me.

You know, from Art Attack?

I'm gonna have to go out and look at that, Dan, that-

I don't remember him from Crossroads.

I remember him from, uh, Art Attack, where he changed his name to-

Yeah.

And also that time then you had shows like Art Attack and Zap, things that were still-

... fairly slow-paced.

Yeah.

But I've watched Art Attack.

You could do great pictures on that scale.
