Perhaps they would go as far as Paris, and it would do his eyes good to see Paris once more.

Passepartout, however, had no sooner heard his master's orders on leaving the Mongolia than he saw at once that they were to leave Bombay as they had done Suez and Paris, and that the journey would be extended at least as far as Calcutta.

and perhaps beyond that place.

He began to ask himself if this bet that Mr. Fogg talked about was not really in good earnest, and whether his fate was not in truth forcing him, despite his love of repose, around the world in eighty days.

Having purchased the usual quota of shirts and shoes, he took a leisurely promenade about the streets, where crowds of people of many nationalities, Europeans, Persians with pointed caps, Banyas with round turbans, Sindhis with square bonnets, Parsees with black mitres, and long-robed Armenians, were collected.

Passepartout remained alone in the house on Savile Row.

Uh, newspapers started writing articles about how you could now go across the world, go round the world in less than 80 days.

Uh, and you know, that obviously strikes a b- a chord, uh, 'cause a f- young French adventure novelist happened to read the article in the French newspaper, and a light bulb went on in his head, and he said, "Wow, uh, this has the makings of a great novel," uh, and, uh, so embarked on a novel, Around the World in 80 Days.

He didn't realize then that it would make an even better movie.

This is Jules Verne, by the way.

She was like, "Why not?" You know the book Around the World in 80 Days?

Yes.

Wasn't it a movie?

But it's this book.

It's written 1873.

The premise is this guy, the main character, Phileas Fogg, he's this, like, wealthy, wealthy man, and he's like, "I'm gonna take my $20,000 that I have in my name," his entire fortune, with his club members, so that, that he can travel around the world in 80 days or less.

And the bros are like, "Hell yeah."

The exterior used to be a real hotel in New York City, which I believe is closed since then, but these lobby scenes were actually filmed in the Reform Club in London, England, and this club is kind of famous.

It appears in Jules Verne's novel from 1873 called Around the World in 80 Days, and the protagonist, Phileas Fogg, is a member of the Reform Club, and he sets out to circumnavigate the world on a bet from his fellow members.

And his journey kind of begins and ends at the club, and that's where these lobby scenes were filmed.

That is interesting.

I'm realizing I've never...

I messed around with the, uh, with the game a little bit, but I've never seen any adaptation or read the s- the, the source for Around the World in 80 Days.

I've seen the...

Is it Owen Wilson and, uh, Steve Coogan?

Mm-hmm.

Um, but I played the, I played the...

One of my very first games that I remember playing was Around the World in 80 Days, actually.

Wow.

And I still vividly remember, you know, seeing Table Mountain in Cape Town for the first time and sailing along and seeing turtles and whales and coming to the Canary Islands and Morocco and going to the markets.

And there was just something that set in place the idea that, The sort of adventures that were had by Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days or Bilbo Baggins setting off on foot, they were possible and an incredibly rich way to travel.

I think there was that.

And it also combined with the fact that every book I ever loved as a kid had a map in the front.
