All right, let's talk about War Dogs and their launch today, because there's something in here that I think is fucking dumb.

All right, so War Dogs is a mass battle FPS game, all right? If anybody's ever played Arma or anybody's ever played Battlefield, it's somewhere in between Battlefield and Arma, all right? So it's more Milsim than Battlefield, but way more arcadey than Arma is.

It's a double-A game, costs $40.

Today was the big pre-release, and people have not been able to get in the game basically all day.

I thought, I thought I saw some people play it already.

Um, but it, that's like the, it's like the Arma game type, like an Arma game or something like that?

It's kind of like, um, uh, like King of the Hill, but more like Call, uh, Call of Duty or Battlefield or something like that.

Yeah, I know the one you're talking about.

that's fair, like Squad or something.

Squad, Arma, Ready or Not.

But yeah, if we get more...

Because all of those studios that make those games, like Arma, Squad, Ready or Not, they could make...

I mean, I'm sure their games are great, like Ready or Not looks cool, but just not really the type of game that I want to play.

But they could have a good idea for another game, like an extraction or something like that, and then go to Battlestate with it and say, hey, let's do this.

Yeah, so anyway, that's really...

This is almost, to me, as exciting as Fragmentary Order.

It lives somewhere in between...

Battlefield and Arma.

Battlefield and Arma, more towards the Arma side.

It was an Arma mod, actually.

And then this development group came together and made it a standalone game.

Like, Arma's... arma on paper is the most magical fucking game on the planet because you can literally do anything it's just so fucking janky because it was it's like a 14 year old game um and it's massive in scale um and they just didn't have the technology to like make it run well like we used to say all the time like oh i got armored yeah like like you're driving down a road and you're in your vehicle just like shoots off into the atmosphere and your

computer just shuts down Not so much that it's not like

on your computer, but like we're

I mean, I've, I've played like a ton of, like, Arma and Tarkov and DayZ and like that kinda style of game, um, eternal.

Or if they...

Uh, this is, it's cliche at this point, but I honestly don't care because I think there's a reason that it's cliched.

If they tried like a gritty ODST shooter, like a Tarkov or like Arma style grit or...

Not Arma, Arma's not gritty, but like, you know, like, you know what I mean, that kind of thing.

It's basically Battlefield mixed with a bit of Tarkov's, uh, depth, I guess-

Or Arma, yeah

... your customization.

Or Arma, yeah.

And it's-

It works perfectly fine

Uh, I've seen people equate it to Arma Reforger, or just Arma-

Is it, does it go as hardcore as something like, say, Squad or Arma in that direction? Or Tarkov?

Yeah, I don't think it goes that far.

I did not play the last, uh, like, play test that they had.
