Arlo Maverick

And I meant it.

cgsw 90.9 fm what's going on and you're tuned into air apparent here liam along with you 227 in the pm that last one of course none other than edmonton's own arlo maverick his track night ship from a couple years back released called blue collar but he's still touring that project because it's just that good And by touring, I mean doing The Odd Show and playing that set through and through.

I caught him this summer at Ship Hop, of course, down at the Ship and Anchor, and had interviewed him over the air, had listened to the album.

front to back a couple of times in preparation for that interview but i'd never seen him live until this summer and even years after this release um every lyric every bar just delivered with a ton of passion plenty of emotion and a full-backed band which is of course the premier way to take in a hip-hop show um there is something to be said about an emcee and a dj i'm not going to get into that all the way but the best ones have percussion someone laying down a bass line he's he had all of that wailing guitars um if he comes through calgary again which i'm sure he will just at the qe2 um you gotta mark that and and check out arlo maverick and if you haven't listened to blue collar his uh latest lp give it a spin And then before that, the latest from Skip Waiters, who's out of Toronto.

A track called Black Entertainment.

That's from his latest release.

Um, and they've been able to support us in that end.

And not to talk about Edmonton, we had Arlo Maverick, the man himself.

Uh, he was a huge help for that, even in, like, promotion.

Yeah.

I said I would focus on the Alberta music scene, and that's what I wanna do.

I had a great interview with Arlo Maverick, a hip hop icon out of Edmonton, to start this off, all part of my Sled Island series that I did this year.

I have 10 episodes all about Sled Island, and it just sparked me to cover this great music.

With all that being said, let's get rolling on this awesome special episode.
