Les résultats montrent que 52 échantillons contiennent des traces de PFS, les fameux polluants éternels, et que 23 d'eux dépassent la limite de qualité fixée par les autorités sanitaires.

Les dépassements les plus graves ont été enregistrés dans deux cas à recours, dans les Ardennes, où les oeufs d'une famille d'agriculteurs contiennent des niveaux presque 40 fois supérieurs à la norme, et à Pierre, venite dans le Rhône, où les oeufs ont dépassé la limite 10 fois en raison de la proximité de l'humidité chimique Arkema.

Autres dépassements importants ont été constatés dans des localités comme Tolivoges et Bolpéléné.

Oriental, René-Gissert, Les Saintes, Peré-Hardich et Chatsout, Bretagne.

Il y en a 9 sur 2.

À Arcourt, dans les Ardennes, on atteint presque 40 fois la norme.

À Pierre-Bénit, à l'ombre des installations Arkema, 10 fois.

I remember when I was a legal intern at a company in France called Arkema.

And I was a legal intern and I was spending the whole summer there, which by the way, they always try and like use and abuse interns.

I was like, man, I'm working so hard.

It's interesting, isn't it? It kind of runs counter to what some of the upstream oil and gas companies are doing, who are which are trying to divest what's left of their chemical assets.

But I just wondered, do you think there's plenty more scope for these kind of deals to create more integrated chemicals champions? There's lots of mid-sized companies, aren't there? Left Blank Cess, Arkema are a couple of examples.

What do you think about that

trend? The oil industry and the chemical industry were always very separate.

We also spoke to Behnaz Ghafari, who is inventing more sustainable fluorochemicals at this French firm called Arkema.

PFAS, often called forever chemicals, persist in the environment.

Daikin plans to more than triple perfluoroelastomer output for semiconductors by two thousand twenty-seven, and Arkema and Chemours are also increasing capacity.

The expansion conflicts with EU efforts.

The European Union set a timeline in two thousand twenty-two to curb PFAS, but many deadlines have slipped and only limited product bans, like certain firefighting foams, are in force.
