So I caught up with Arjun Chowgule, Managing Director, to hear how the Indian Yard is now so popular with Europe's short-sea shipping companies.

when as a shipyard when we look at working with certain clients we also look at really what's behind them and here because it's a Norwegian client they have a strong their own funding but they also have a lot of support from the Norwegian government to get these vessels out in the market there is a big recalibration of the fleet that needs to happen in these areas.

And with the regulatory changes and with the thinking behind sea transportation, they want to go a lot more sustainable, lower emissions.

And this is why they've chosen this type of project.

The project was re-evaluated from a shipyard's perspective, sustainable from a building perspective, from a financing perspective.

We had a conversation with GMI and it's worked out and we're happy to take this forward.

In terms of the competitiveness of yourself and Indian shipbuilding then, this must be quite a good step for you as an industry when it comes to this transition because you are now starting to demonstrate a capability to build these kind of clean ships.

Yeah, you know, we've been able to deliver on these and to be honest, it's not something that we've done on our own.
