Arizona Theatre Company

They're going to stage it, which I'm really excited about.

So it's going to be staged by the Arizona Theater Company.

And if anybody is in Tucson or Phoenix next spring, you can go see it.

It's going to be awesome.

And the union we're focusing on is IATSE, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, specifically Local 415.

We're talking about 20 workers at the Arizona Theatre Company that voted recently to ratify a contract with the Live Theatre Group, while employees at the Loft Cinema voted unanimously three days earlier to finalize their contract with the ArtHouse Film Hub.

They're trying to figure out, uh, what we can do.

And so with some of the organizing successes that have been going on and the high-profile, uh, organizing cases, uh, happening, happening in corporate, uh, America, in, in the Amazons and the Starbucks of the world, you know, people are seeing that.

I'm really hopeful that this win at The Loft and with Arizona Theatre Company, it's really gonna send a signal out in our industry locally here in Tucson that, you know, folks over at the AMC Cinemas and, and folks at the, the Fox Theatre and, and places, uh, that don't have union representation that are wondering why they can't afford to lead a dignified life in this town right now with the wages that they're being paid, that they can get a solution, that they can get some relief from organizing with their coworkers and coming together in a union to demand better wages and, and bring the floor up on those wages.
