Area 88

And the next one we're going to move on to is incredibly gritty.

It's an old one out of the 80s called Area 88.

And it's got a couple tank scenes early in it.

It is primarily about mercenary jet fighter pilots.

Yes.

But again, guys, we covered a bunch of different fun animes.

Again, Dominion Tank Police, Ghosts and Shell, Valkyria Chronicles, of course, Girls on Panzer, Area 88, Girls Last Tour, and Gate.

There's something out there for everyone.

It seems like the Vampire Hunter D game I always kind of wanted, but out of the PlayStation 2 era that costs like $5 in a bin at Walmart.

can i may have been like this new castlevania game is like a sequel to curse of darkness which is the second ps2 game that no one's played so yeah i don't know like and it's also not in any of the collections because they have much harder to port a ps2 game so like this new one is kind of connected to the second ps2 castlevania you're like okay thanks guys uh thanks for letting me know i don't want to do that information but thank you god thank god yeah that's so that is a long segment one a lot of metroidvania talk there I've been having a lot of fun with that some of that though presages very nicely what we're about to talk about as we this month are playing UN Squadron so let me play the music and then we'll be back with our game music our game club this month is un squadron the 1989 uh or 1990 uh arcade game from capcom shooter uh based on area 88 the manga localized as un squadron released first in arcades in 1989 I believe 91 is when it finally came out on SNES as an updated version one of the earliest CPS1 games on Capcom's classic arcade board that has made many incredible games Yeah.

And I was like, what should we play this month? And you said UN Squadron, because we kind of decided we wanted something short again, but not short in the same way.

We wanted a different kind of discussion than we had last time.

UN Squadron.

And then Anamerica came out.

And Anamerica had the Area 88.

They were serializing the manga.
