Arclight Phoenix

Like yes, it can be hated on.

It's a little bit harder to get back than Arclight Phoenix, I think.

It takes a little more setup, but once it gets going, it's really good.

But then I just went 7-0 with the deck through one of those little queues, and I was like, "Uh, it's early access, so the record doesn't matter," but apparently it kinda works, 'cause it just, like, kept beating people.

Like, unlike Arclight Phoenix, I felt like Darklight was a really good late game, assuming your graveyard's open.

If it gets locked down by a Rest- Yeah ...

Rest in Peace, you're done.

I had opponents do this to me, where it's just like, no matter how much of your stuff I kill, they just always get back these Darklights.

The other one is, and I don't have the Reddit user's name and I apologize, but they posted a Grixis 8 Phoenix deck.

So four Arclight Phoenix, four Darklight Phoenix.

And they had Devastating Summons in this.

And Devastating Summons is red.

And Cabal Therapy.

It's harder to enable on the real note than Arclight Phoenix.

It depends a little bit.

I don't

know if there's one card combo like there is for Arclight Phoenix that enables them automatically, like Buried Alive kind of thing.

There's not such thing, I think, for this Darklight Phoenix, which is the strong thing kind of for Arclight Phoenix.

There's so many different ways to build this deck, which we'll see next week, I'm sure.

I just think that there's... endless amount of excitement around this single card and that's how i felt when i saw arclight phoenix in 2019 or 2018 yeah 2018 that was the most exciting card i think i spent 15 dollars a pop on my arclight phoenixes back in 2018 to play really garbage awful decks and in standard and day two a gp after graduating college and being gone for magic for like three months because it's arclight phoenix and i know how to play finale of promise or which was it called finale of promise of finality

Anyways, I miss Arclight Phoenix.

I'm going to play it a bunch in Pioneer.

It's three, two.

It is flying in haste, just like Arclight Phoenix.

And it says at the beginning of combat on your turn, if two or more creatures died this turn, return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield.

Because bringing this back is really powerful.

We saw that from Arclight Phoenix.

Arclight Phoenix I think is significantly easier to play than this one.

I think if they thought killing three things was easy enough, they would have done that for the symmetry.

So it's a little telling to me and maybe I'm reading into it too much.

So you've struck a chord with me as someone who is a believer in this card being really good.

Now, I think that, like, you said something there about how Darklight Phoenix was a bit easier to play with and to... to make sure you're getting back.

I think in part because it's easier to find and put an Arclight Phoenix in the graveyard than it is necessarily a Darklight Phoenix, right? Like, there are some questions that need to be answered for Darklight Phoenix first, right? Like, Faithless Looting puts Arclight Phoenix in the yard pretty easily.
