‘Worth’ing their weight in gold! - National League Review
M
24:07MarkHOST
It's, it's just a bit of a shambles where you look at AFC Fylde under Craig Mahon, a bright young manager.
M
24:14MarkHOST
You know, he did it at Curzon, did it last season and- S- the si- you could say about the, the transfer market, I mean, the signing of Aaron Drew, for example, you know, to persuade him to go from Woking all the way up to Fylde when Southend were looking for a right back, Yeovil possibly before they got Archie Davies.
M
24:37MarkHOST
[sighs] It...
M
24:40MarkHOST
They are, they have been an absolute breath of fresh air.
14 MINS LATER
D
38:27DanHOST
Honestly, Yeovil back-to-back 6-0 wins, uh, I mean, there's just no stopping them at the moment, but we'll-- I'll talk you through the game.
D
38:36DanHOST
Bit of nothing first 20 minutes, and then a brilliant ball with the outside of his right foot from Brett McGavin over the top.
D
38:42DanHOST
Archie Davies latches onto it.
D
38:44DanHOST
Baptiste in no man's land absolutely wipes Davies out, probably as clear as a red card as you're gonna see.
Gloverscast #533 - "You’re in London now, no floured buns here"

I said at the time, there was no complaints really from their players or even the...
S
5:19Seb WhiteGUEST
He, he started to walk, goalie started to walk off after taking out Archie Davies who had...
S
5:24Seb WhiteGUEST
For the first time Yeovil had found that long ball work, and it went through to Archie Davies and, yeah, the keeper misjudged it.
S
5:30Seb WhiteGUEST
And yeah, there was only one option for the referee who ha- had never given a red card beforehand, as your brilliant preview had, had stated.
S
5:37Seb WhiteGUEST
And 20 minutes in, he, he flashed a red card, and from then on in, it was very much Yeovil's day.
D
5:48David CoatesHOST
Not, not, not very good that, that view, I have to say.
D
5:51David CoatesHOST
Uh, I mean, I saw the keeper come harrowing out of his goal, uh, and, and take someone out.
D
5:56David CoatesHOST
I, I couldn't have honestly told you from the view I had whether it was Joel Powell, uh, Slavi Spasov, who was nowhere near it, but I thought, "Well, he's got to be around there somewhere." Um, it wasn't until I watched it back on the replay that I realized it was Archie Davies.
Gloverscast #530 "It's like throwing a cupboard"
J

But having watched him, I'm enjoying it.
J
7:26Josh StauntonGUEST
He's had a couple of... rocky moments over the last two weeks but some of the saves he made have been brilliant mate and he's just got a real set of bollocks hasn't he to actually take the ball do you know what I mean he comes and catches it and then he passes it and then he's quite brave in his decision making with the passing I've been impressed I think all the boys who have come up have made the jump well it just looks a really dynamic team and I think that's quite exciting isn't it I was quite I went to the kiddie game the other day and I thought it was poor because and that wasn't no fault of Yova I just thought Kidderminster destroyed any if that's even a word I don't know who that is in the game he just became bitty and there was no flow to it but some of the time when this team gets into like that flow state of passing and movement I said it on radio at halftime the other day it's almost like poetic it's really nice just sit back and put your feet up and enjoy it it's it's nice and there's it's just nice to see there's loads of little relationships forming around the pitch and it's good like I'm enjoying watching um Archie Davis build a relationship with uh Jones on that right.
J
8:43Josh StauntonGUEST
Yeah, yeah.
J
8:44Josh StauntonGUEST
So it's
J
8:50Josh StauntonGUEST
It's a 3-4-3, probably.
J
8:52Josh StauntonGUEST
3-box-3.
J
8:54Josh StauntonGUEST
And if it wasn't Jones on that left wing, er, right wing, Archie Davies tucks it, drives it aside to Archie Davies, I guess, becomes a bottom four.
J
9:02Josh StauntonGUEST
So I think it's really dynamic.
Gloverscast #527 - "How do you defend against hoverboards?
I
56:15IanHOST
He's played every minute of the last three, you know, every minute of this game so far, hasn't he? But this week run as well, he has been involved in the entirety of it.
I
56:24IanHOST
And there's been, yeah, like he's not, he doesn't do the Archie Davies bombing up and down, but what he does is as important.
I
56:34IanHOST
And it's just Mr.
I
56:35IanHOST
Dependable, isn't he? He's been, yeah, he's been excellent.
Gloverscast #526 "Big Prab's Big Calculator"
D
46:32Don PlebAUDIENCE
The first 15 minutes of the second half were indeed very difficult, but the balls of steel attitude shown by each and every one of those 10 people on the pitch was remarkable.
D
46:43Don PlebAUDIENCE
That Archie Davies tackle was worth the admission fee alone for me and earns my Man of the Match vote, even though he did plenty of other good things.
D
46:54Don PlebAUDIENCE
Brett nearly scores and then 60 seconds later they scramble an equaliser.
D
46:59Don PlebAUDIENCE
Once again, a familiar pattern that's happened up and down the country in different games this season.
