Arcee

All right, and we're gonna finish up the show with a little bit of feedback.

[upbeat music] And, uh, this is feedback from the last episode, uh, from YouTube, and, uh, WJ says, "Finally, Headmaster Arcee is being built," talking about the new, uh, Missing Link Headmaster Arcee that Takara's gonna put out.

And look, I mean, you know, we talked about all these repaints and stuff on the Hasbro side.

Obviously Takara is not in the same spot because the Missing Link line, uh, and then their Over Gear line, they are just cranking out new designs-

He's already, uh, suffering and having some kind of agony as the energy of the released energy from the Matrix is starting to overtake him.

We cut inside the innards of Unicron, and we catch up with Springer, Arcee, and Kup, and they are blasting away at these claw cable monster things.

And I feel like this is the third or fourth time that I've mentioned these in, uh, in these episodes, and I still don't have a clever name for them.

Uh, but I also, as always, want to call attention to the beautiful background paintings.

Like, the, the inner workings of Unicron is profoundly interesting.

I should also mention that during this sequence, we are treated to Stan Bush's The Touch.

But this is a, a, a visually interesting sequence, if not kind of a, a throwaway, as the trio, Springer, Kup, and Arcee, are, uh, firing as the- at these things as they- they're just kind of, like, lashing around, because, uh, in the early goings, they're...

If you watch the animation, they're just kind of more whipping around until this sequence here, where this one capture claw tags Springer in the shoulder and pins him to the wall.

So we got RC, and they went, well...

What if we did Arcee again, but made her headmaster from that one part in, what, part two or part three of Rebirth, where Daniel became her headmaster? How about we do that? And I'm like, ah! Okay.

It's not a terrible idea.

I'm not against it.

It might just not be there at all.

It might just be like the shadowing from the photography.

But if we're doing an old Arcee, you know, slap a bit of makeup on her, you know? That's what Arcee looked like.

She had big red lips, if I remember.

How many Kingdom Hearts connections do you think we have?

I would agree with Arcee in our chat would probably be four.

You're thinking four.

I'm thinking four.

So this is like a Headmaster Jr. style construction for the Headmaster.

I kind of wish Arcee's helmet would have actually been the seat and helmet part like you get on original Headmaster Juniors.

Instead of just being the front of it without the extra piece to add on.

But I'm very pleased I got to be the one to show this to Don the first time in our text message, our group text.

It's the exact same way that they would've done that.

The Arcee face, um, would not be that perfect, right?

Mm-hmm.

It would be, it would be really kind of jank and it would-

So I li- I like the fact that it exists.

Um, but I, I just, I can't see past the fact that it's, like, got so much new modern engineering to it.

Well, I mean, th- this, this is pretty much the exact same as the other Missing Link Arcee, right? Other than the head.

Is there any of this-

So Optimus Prime is down on the floor, uh, smoke coming out of his tummy.

Uh, Hot Rod, along with Arcee and Kup, run into frame.

"Optimus! Optimus, don't die.

You can't." And we'll stop there.

I don't...

I mean, she'll, she'll pick up projects, uh, from time to time.

But shoot, even when I talked to her a couple years ago, uh, ahead of, uh, Side Fest Northwest, she's kind of found this kind of like, if not full retirement, certainly a degree of semi-retirement where, yeah, sure I'll, I'll do some Arcee lines for Keegan Carlisle for his Transformers animated stuff.

But, but yeah, it's, like, not really gonna throw down for, like, a full series order.

Springer, Arcee.

There's all these new Autobots.

And then, but, but the thing that they do that they didn't realize the impact of it is in that film, spoiler alert, but it is 40 years old, they kill Optimus Prime.
