Arandas

If you look at where Jalisco is, um, on towards the left of it you have where is the valley region where the town of Tequila exists.

On the right side is where this beautiful big mountain, um, and above this big mountain is this area called Arandas.

That's where Ocho, La Virlal, Tena, and Los San Tobias, which are our two original distillery and our new distillery exists.

If you're gonna tell me that it was the eighth batch that they chose-

I know, right?

It's not gonna say whatever I want.

[laughs] Um, so depending on the areas of Arandas and our single estate fields that we source from, uh, the way the sun hits it, the type of soil that we might have within that area, you know, altitude, you know, its own little microclimate.

It's gonna create-

So what do people a- what should you be tasting for when, when you're looking at a tequila?

For me, so the highlands and lowlands, the highlands being like Arandas and the lowlands being like Tequila proper, Jalisco.

Th- they have two distinct flavor profiles.

As far as the highlands, it's red clay soil that they're growing the agave in.
