Aqib Talib

I found it interesting during my time at undergrad there, because the football program had been trash there, like when I, I got there, and by my last year, my, my fifth year, senior year at Kansas, Kansas won the Orange Bowl.

That's when Mark Mangino was there, Aqib Talib, um, Todd Reesing, the whole thing.

But anyway, when Kansas was, was good at football, when they started winning, that's when there was an awesome atmosphere in the stadium.

But when they were not good in some of these years where they missed bowl games, that's where you had the thing of the, the students, the students that came to the game, they, they'd go for the first half, and then they'd leave.

[applause] Let's go.

And our Super Bowl champion, five-time Pro Bowler, and two-time All-Pro cornerback, Aqib Talib.

Yeah.

[applause]

So, so Kenzie-

This is what I was worried about, too

... you, you know, the problem with Aqib Talib is you forget he grew up in Dallas, Texas, correct? Mostly.

Mostly.

You can only do it if you have elite players.

Like, if you have Aqib Talib or Darrelle Revis with the Patriots or the Jets, or if you have, like, what the Broncos do with Pat Surtain and Bradley Moss.

Like, you need, like, elite level players to do it, and the Lions have been trying to play man coverage with below average secondary for, like, six years under Dan Campbell.

And it is now, now at the point of, it's kind of just a, it, it's sad.

I know he has.

I, when Aqib Talib had a little run-

Oh, yeah

... was it Aqib? Who, who...

It's incredible

... you know, when those two guys would go at it, or Aqib Talib and Michael Crabtree would go at it, or even-

Mm-hmm

...

Yeah, and, and I also like the fact, too, that you, you have that respect in there, and, and, you know-

Oh, yeah

... like, you, you mentioned the, like, Aqib Talib and, you know, ripping the chains and all that kind of stuff.

Like, that was pure hatred.
