That's outrageous.

I clicked on the little info circle by the Mac OS thing, and it pops up a thing that says Apple Intelligence is using 20.46 gigabytes.

Apple Intelligence.

Mine's 12.

Yeah.

And in OS 27, okay, so Mac OS 26, you could switch it off.

You could switch off.

You could... switch off apple intelligence now you can't you can switch off siri entirely uh you can do tricks like setting siri um to a different language than your system language which causes a kind of an incompatibility and stops uh switches off apple intelligence and theoretically i think i've been reading some forums and on reddit some people have done that before they've upgraded and it has not downloaded or not it doesn't seem to have downloaded all of the apple intelligence stuff But you know how these things go.

So it definitely appears to make a difference, um, when it comes to the hardware that's able to support the software.

Uh, uh, speaking, uh, speaking of software, that's a good segue into the next one.

Uh, Apple Intelligence is eating your Max storage and you-

And so we just kind of prioritized what are new functionalities.

So like the Apple intelligence restrictions, the disk management, the Safari settings, which didn't have an analogous version for profiles,

or like

math notes.

When math notes and the Apple intelligence, sorry, Apple intelligence features around that came out, there was no way to manage math notes in a profile.

Apple did put some stuff in the restrictions profile payload, the beast that that is, the biggest payload on earth by far.

But, you know... we just kind of prioritize based off what are customers asking for that they want to make sure that they have covered and what are customers, you know, going to see an appreciable difference for the end user.

latest, Mark? I think we started this gag over two years ago.

Apple goes back and forth between, Apple intelligence is going to be amazing, and they don't talk about it for four months.

So on again, off again.

We're back on again.

Although I think it's actually going to release this time because Apple has officially thrown in the towel.

They're leaning on their longest running and probably most strategic partnership in Apple's history, which is Google.

And so they're now going to use Gemini as the secret sauce that sits underneath Apple Intelligence.

And that is actually what's going to power

Uh, well, everybody get on this one because if you have an iPhone, this one's for you.

Apple users can now submit claims in a proposed $250 million class action settlement involving Siri and delays tied to Apple Intelligence.

The lawsuit alleges Apple's marketing and performance claims caused harm.

While Apple has not admitted wrongdoing, eligible class members may receive a share of the settlement, although individual payments will depend on the number of approved claims and other court-appointed factors, like how much do the scumbag lawyers get.

I took a Mac LC2 to college with me.

So getting to work at Apple was kind of like living a lifelong dream and getting to go work on Apple and Siri and Apple intelligence, figure out how do we tell the story of Apple's place in this AI wave was just such a privilege.

over the last couple of years, you know, and getting to launch Siri AI and kind of this latest version of Apple Intelligence, which we announced at WWDC that happened to be my last week at Apple was kind of going out with that big announcement was it was really a dream come true.

And now I think it's available for everybody.

I'm one of the people recommending update the operating system now.

You know, text, it has to be like 200 characters or more or something before they actually get summarized.

And if someone sends you a diatribe, it's sometimes nice to get the quick glance and you can always again tap to expand it.

And so I think what Apple did really well with Apple Intelligence was not just was focused on the assistant, which took longer than it needed to, but also focus on a supporting cast of other features around the operating system that are just better with AI, whether that's writing tools right in the moment to help you rewrite things, whether that's in the photos app, being able to edit your photos or clean them up or expand them now, which just got launched, or this really cool feature around spatial reframing where you can actually tilt the camera a little bit because it has a lot of spatial knowledge.

We'll click Create a Pass, and up will pop these different options, and we'll click Continue or tap Continue, and we can choose between three options here, standard, membership, or event.

If you're on a newer phone, a phone that also has Apple Intelligence- Instead of doing it manually like we're doing here, you can actually create it automatically just by taking a photo of whatever's in front of you.

Apple Intelligence will go ahead and find the code in the photo and then create a pass for you.

In this case, we're going to create it ourselves, so I'm just going to tap on one, and what we wanna do here is choose Add Code.

So we'll tap Add Code, and I just so happen to have a QR code there.

Now, I have my Cafe Chihuahua, uh, Pawchino Club Elite Status pass, and if there was more information, we could have it on the other side of the card.

That is how you both create and customize your pass on the phone.

Now, along with that, you do have the ability, again, with Apple Intelligence, if you have a newer phone, uh, if you take a photo or a screenshot, if it includes the barcode or the QR code anywhere, you can tap Add to Wallet and then follow the on-screen instructions.

And we can choose between three options here, Standard, Membership, or Event.
