uh the kind of the most interesting thing is the a20 pro chip which gets a quite quite the significant bump in performance uh compared to the a19 now it's very very similar to the m6 chip that we talked about last week same architecture same two nanometer process all that good stuff so it gets like all of those improvements It has a six core CPU with two efficiency or two super cores, excuse me, and four efficiency cores.

They're saying that the super cores are 20% faster than the A19 Pro and are quote unquote desktop class.

So they probably just copied them out of the M series chip and put them in this one.

A 7-core GPU, so you get an extra core on the GPU for up to a 40% increase in performance over the A19 Pro, which is also pretty impressive.

Two times faster floating point math with the updated Neural Accelerators, which is pretty impressive as well.

And unsurprisingly, just like the M6 got a dual 16 core neural engine for essentially 32 cores of neural engine compute, that also comes to the A20 Pro as well.

It's a new CPU, or a new SOC package.

It is actually physically wider than the, uh, A19.

Um, that doesn't really matter to most people, but-

built using the latest 2-nanometer process technology.

Apple says the new processor features 50% more memory bandwidth than A19 Pro, a new 7-core GPU that's up to 40% faster than A19 Pro, and a new dual 16-core neural engine, which accelerates on-device AI models and computational photography, and doubles the AI processing power of A19 Pro.

For the communications part of Apple's Communicator, both the Pro and Pro Max feature N1, an Apple-designed wireless networking chip that enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.

The 18 Pro also rocks Apple's C2, the Cupertino company's next-gen cellular modem.

So they're going to talk about three changes.

Let's talk about the engines running these machines.

So the S26 Ultra incorporates a significantly larger vapor chamber this year.

Because when you push these phones with heavy, sustained graphical loads, like playing an intense 3D game for an hour, the iPhone 17 Pro Max actually stays cooler to the touch in the outside glass.

Right.

Because Apple's A19 chip has an incredibly efficient thermal envelope.

It generates less heat at the silicon level, meaning less heat radiates out to the user's hands.
