AP poll

After an absolutely crazy weekend of college football, the AP Poll is officially out.

It just dropped.

We wanna know what you think.

We just got it too.

In the comments, whether you're a Bama fan, Georgia fan, Ohio State fan, it doesn't matter, we wanna know what you think.

We want you to grade the AP voters.

And I'm gonna be honest, on first look, this might be their best work.

Hmm.

Exactly.

So, uh, we'll talk about, uh, we'll talk about Texas Tech actually in the polls and whatnot, uh, the Super 16 poll, the AP poll.

Uh, that's coming up.

Um, let's see.

Right.

In our eight spot, so.

So I'm sure eventually me and the AP will be on the same-

[laughs] Right

Kirby Smart's made it very clear a few times that he thinks this Alabama team, i- and he hasn't been emphatic in saying this, but he's been matter of fact in saying it, that he thinks this Alabama team is different and better and m- more physical now than it was a year ago.

And so maybe the love that they're getting and the hype they're getting, skyrotting- rocketing up the, uh, the, uh, polls, AP poll.

Uh, you've seen, you know, uh, skyrocketing up the Heisman odds, uh, k- for Keilan Russell.

There is just this very positive reconsideration of Alabama based on its start that's been hard not to notice.

I'll tell you this, you know, I may be slightly contrarian on this.

Sometimes I'm too contrarian, excessively contrarian, but I still think we hear from Texas A&M.

In fact, even though Missouri looked great in beating Florida, and they got a nice number next to their name now, they're I think 14th in the AP poll.

The honest truth is, you know, analytics, things of that nature, they don't have Missouri, you know, on a neutral field matching up with what, uh, what you got with, with Texas A&M here.

Um, speaking of not feeling right with a time slot, um, we have number 10, our number 11 LSU eight and a half point favorite at our number 20 Kentucky, which-

How, how are they unranked right now in the AP poll? I-

Um, so I actually have this right here.

Um, this is a game that I called the ups- upset in the off-season, and this should absolutely be a ranked on ranked game.

But the AP Poll decided to listen to Shannon Dawson and Pat Narduzzi, two of the most logical and reasonable-

... um, not just self-aggrandizing people in the sport, and take Kentucky out of the top 25 after winning a football game.

Kentucky's in mine, too.

Mm-hmm.

I do find it a bit ironic that it seems like another hot topic is how dumb the AP Poll is and how it's always messed up, but, like, here, clearly we're, we're, we're putting the best teams in the top 25.

Well, there are, there are some voters in there that are, I mean, shocking with some of the, some stunts they pull.

So I don't disagree on an individual basis, right? Like, on a micro level, there's crazy decisions, but on a macro level, they're at least doing a pretty good job of putting the best teams in the top 25.
