Aotea Centre

So cool.

And also happening as part of We the Young is Wonderverse, which is an immersive world powered by music and light through a tunnel of flickering fireflies in a glowing forest at the Hunua Rooms in Aotea Centre this Thursday, the 1st of October.

Wow, that sounds so cool.

If you want to head along and take a kid or, I don't know, heal your inner child, that's none of my business really.

Susie Cato Needs No Introduction is a much-loved children's host on many media now.

We invited Susie to choose the best song ever this morning because the annual We the Young Festival is up and running this weekend and right through until the 11th of October in Auckland's Aotea Centre.

Outside on the Aotea Square as well and on the Town Hall too.

The program includes free activities if you want to have a look online.

It's just so wonderful to see.

You are such a good person, Susie Cato, and also the queen of interaction, especially with children.

Tell us a few words about, I'm going to ask about your particular show, but the We the Young Festival at the Aotea Centre in Auckland.

Big numbers, big numbers right from the get-go last year, actually.

We are actually very honoured to have an incredible guest who, by the way, has an amazing festival coming up.

We are the Young Festival, 2nd of October at the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre in Aotea Centre.

It is Susie Kader.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I'm very well.

Look, I've spent the week or part of the week at the Architects Conference in Auckland at the Aotea Centre, which is a fascinating exercise.

They get in visiting speakers from overseas like big conferences do and they all have a good time catching up with each other as conferences go.

But a really interesting focus this year on the impact of climate on their work, how you build cities and how you build buildings to resist the changing climate, and also the question of density.

Really excited for the scrolls this year.

Happening here in Tāmaki Makaurau on the 14th of October at the Aotea Centre.

How good.

Okay, it's time for the news headlines and then we're going to catch up with Rick Breeze about this beautiful looking day.

Ripper of a track from the beatniks, that's Another Day.

Who's excited for Cross Street Music Festival to come back? Before this, we were listening to One Stop from Aldous Harding, which is, of course, one of the five finalists announced today for the Silver Scroll Award.

Silver Scrolls are happening at Aotea Centre in October, and I'm going to try and play all five finalists throughout the show.

We've heard from Liao so far, and now Aldous Harding as well, who, of course, won in 2019 with The Barrel.
