And what's interesting about that is when you're watching that whole situation going on, and you're, as a human, at the top of the building looking down, you kind of see the same thing that humans are basically doing.
EvanHOST

You know, and you see the dates and the shows, and I wanted it to have that kind of feeling that they, that we've caught a tour as it's happening, and w- we're grabbing the best bits from, from different shows.
Craig FinnHOST
20:47
Was it all recorded in, within the same year, nine months or so?
Tatiana HargreavesGUEST
49:47
Yeah.
NolanHOST
49:48
Um, and you actually played on stage with Casey on Ants Marching, dueling fiddles.
Tatiana HargreavesGUEST
49:56
[laughs]
NolanHOST
49:56
What was that moment like for you? And kinda even just, like, leading up to it, practicing.
Tatiana HargreavesGUEST
51:20
And Casey and I had a, we were put in, like, a little, like, shared, like, apartment, like, condo kind of.
Tatiana HargreavesGUEST
51:28
So we had, like, like, a living room area and, like, we would, like, play music together and kind of warm up together, which was really fun.
Tatiana HargreavesGUEST
51:34
And, um, yeah, when we knew which ones we were playing together, we were kind of like, "Okay, like, what kind of approach do we wanna take here?" Like, uh, Casey's definitely more of, like, a, an organized planner, I think, when it comes to music, so he had all these very specific arrangements, ideas, and then I was kind of like, "What if we just, like, turn it into a fiddle tune?" [laughs] And that was kind of the beginning of the Ant Eaters, was like, I'd had this idea of a fiddle tune when I had been working on Ants Marching for the Raleigh show, and then we didn't do it.
Tatiana HargreavesGUEST
52:10
Um, so I, like, played him that first part, and I was like, "I kinda was, like, coming up with this fiddle tune," and then we, like, wrote that whole tune together and we were like, "Okay, like, we'll kind of trade back and forth, and then we'll build into the fiddle tune." And then when we were on stage, like, we didn't tell anybody about it, and then we were on stage, like, we did the trades and then we were like, "Build it, gonna build it into the tune." And then it was like, "Okay, now we're moving on to the next part." So we kinda looked at each other like, "Okay, like, you know, we won't do that one." Um, but then we, we wrote a tune together, so that was fun.
Matt GregoryGUEST

And I was just looking for like my space with music.
