While the song remains controversial, its influence can be traced in later punk acts, such as Anti-Flag or Propagandhi.

They built upon Biafra's blueprint of integrating politics with hardcore intensity.

The record label Alternative Tentacles had to navigate legal battles over royalties and songwriting credits.
