Part of me likes the idea that they're saying, "Hey, you know what? The guys who got us back into this thing were, uh, Sogaard, and Gaspar, and, and Seigler, and those are the guys we're gonna go with.

So we're gonna let those guys fight it out." And, 'cause this is the biggest series of the year.

The, the, you know, the, I...

But the first guy I think of who you send down, it would've been Mickey Gasper, but I mean y- obv- to, to state the obvious, you can't send that guy down right now.

It might have to be Anthony Seigler, which is weird 'cause he's a infielder and r- Roman never has sniffed the infields, but they're both left-handed bats.

The, the issue there though is you send Seigler down, you now have four infielders on the roster, and your reserve infielder is Eli White.

Like, I'll, here, I'll list you out the options and I'll say ahead of time that that to me would be the last option.

Even though I asked people today, and it was probably the most popular answer was to send Seigler down.

I wouldn't even mind the strikeouts all that much if he was doing damage in other plate appearances.

For example, Roman Anthony last night struck out two times, but you don't really hear about it because he also had a single that was hit 109 miles an hour, a home run, and he walked, right? He was on base three times, so you're gonna take two strikeouts if you're getting on base three times throughout the rest of the game.

Trevor Story's doing neither of those things, and that's what really scares me about what he's doing in Triple-A right now.

What also scares me about what's going on in Triple-A is that it doesn't seem to be something that Trevor Story believes to be an issue.

Right? If, again, if you strike it out in, in horrible ways twice a game, but, you know, he's got a double and a single and a home run in his other three at bats, okay.

Like, who cares, right? But until that happens, yeah, I'm gonna sit there and be like, "Trevor, I, I don't really know how you could sit there and say that you're feeling really good about dictating at bats when you're quite literally swinging at pitches in the dirt in the other batter's box against Triple-A pitching." That doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

So you're looking at this and you're like, "Man, this is a little bit scary here," but how does all this affect the Red Sox? Well, in Duran's case, it's obviously a pretty positive impact on this team, right? The Red Sox have stuck it out all year with him, and I think that's because in large part Roman Anthony's been injured for most of the season.

But that kind of faith in their player is kind of paying off a little bit, right? Even if it's just six weeks out of the season, but it just so happens to be the last six weeks and into the playoffs where Jarren Duran is the player that everybody wants him to be, you're gonna take that and be excited about it because it's kind of at the perfect time.

A few hits in there, but a lot of strikeouts, bad defense, um, and man, it's, it's hard to, you know, justify a spot for him right now 'cause you don't wanna send down Sogard, you don't wanna send down Monasterio.

Sure, you could send down Anthony Seigler, uh, who had a big triple today.

Uh, but then you also do have IKF coming back where, hey, he might force another one of those moves, and rosters do expand in, like, a week anyway, so maybe you just try to float it or whatever.

And then of course, you do have Roman Anthony coming back and, uh, I think they're gonna plan to DH him mostly, um, especially right off, um, coming off the IL, so that way he can kinda get acclimated.
