Well, as Farron said, this is Wing at Waterfowl.

You know, the first time we talked, we talked about the common thread of just a mower, duck, or Canada goose, whatever it is.

And Tony and I both being in the sales world and our other jobs outside of Waterfowl, you know, a lot of stuff gets done in a pit or a field, whether it's brushing the blind for the season or, you know, hunting and not seeing a bird or hunting and killing a double band six-man limit.

You know, it's...

it all gets neutralized.

Um, this is, uh, going to be a little bit left field, but again, you know, my brain has just been going about the, the, the, the, uh, question from Alex.

Cause I think it's a big one and I think that I want to answer it even in further depth and.

One of the things that a lot of people do not know about, and I know that DU did their darn best to promote it, is that one of the biggest things that, to me, this is just my opinion, that y'all have done that affects everybody on this planet is the film Wings Over Waterfowl.

You know, that was a DU funded.

But let us be clear, the Foul Weather podcast never saw it coming.

But once we got into the Waterfowl podcast world and were forced to engage on more social media platforms, it became abundantly clear that the Waterfowl world, all the great people across duck country, were starving for good, unfiltered, and sometimes blunt information.

We were drowning in data but starved for knowledge.

Look, nonprofits do an amazing job of moving the good information out to the public, but they can't be edgy like an independent voice, like the Foulweather podcast can when BS rears its ugly head from the leading homers, the leading haters, and the leading conformists.

So we spent a lot more than $25 on stuff, as duck hunters are really good at doing.

So, yeah, it was just an easy... easy spend and and i took it the same way as you did the way that u.s fish and wildlife service press release came out related to that you know i believe it said we're not gonna do anything further as we review the information available something to that effect so yeah i don't know that it's a done deal done deal um on the drain tile setbacks but it's definitely made them hit pause which was i consider that a success for the time being and then you have to rely on the The lobbying folks at Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Program, all those things that are involved in protecting habitat for wildlife to really work their magic in D.C., they're just going to have a thorn in their side with this senator from North Dakota.

Because in case you haven't seen...

He, after kind of somewhat lost this effort to get the U.S.

And it is a very encouraging list of people all across the Waterfowl space who care enough to take the time to do it.

So I think I mentioned before we started here, Brent, I was reading it off to my wife last night before it launched.

The book is A Reed Shaken with the Wind, A Human and Natural History of the Bear River Marsh.

I want to talk about Chapter 9, Beyond Waterfowl.

As waterfowl gets the headlines, there are other birds and wildlife out there.

Talk about that a little bit.

So, yeah.

It's a fun podcast, just a bunch of folks that mostly co-hosted between Mark McConnell and I, and Brian joins us on a lot of the Waterfowl episodes.

And it's just guys crazy about birds and, more importantly, bird hunting, talking about science and habitat management.

So, yeah, and that ties right back into what I was going to say.

It definitely, you know, there's a lot of that happening.

And it's important to Mark and myself that whether our students that don't come here as hunters, you know, whether they continue, like are recruited into the hunting community, we want them to understand that and experience it because they need to, they're serving a stakeholder group that is mostly hunters, you know, they need to understand that.

So we do, we participate, of course, in Delta Waterfowl's University Hunt Program and we take a group of students doing that.

All of my, and Mark and I do this a lot with our graduate students and research associates.

I think she has some ideas and possibilities.

It's going to have something to do with Waterfowl.

Goose or a duck? Yes.

Both.
