Another One Rides the Bus

All right, so a very, very early song.

Next up, from 1983, Another One Rides the Bus.

Queen parody, obviously, from Another One Bites the Dust.

I've seen him twice in concert.

I love him.

Uh, I, you know, enjoy the parody here, but another one rides the bus is like, it's, it's a classic that makes me laugh.

And I just think it's, it's very pure.

And at a certain point, I don't remember exactly how this happened, but I think I got a Weird Al autograph.

My dad either met him or something, but there was a note that I received back when I was much younger because I remember listening a lot to Another One Rides the Bus, which was that first thing that Weird Al did and it was on Dr. Demento, which was so much fun to listen to back as a kid.

But years later, I met him and he asked me to play on this song, which was, in a way it's related to, my dad has a song called In France.

And this is kind of an extrapolation on that concept, but what Weird Al, was really good at in all of his interpretations of other people's music is bringing the textures and the stylisms or whatever you want to call it to make it sound like it's that artist's vocabulary, but then He makes it fun and funny with the lyrics, but he does a really good job of taking the serious elements of that person's style and incorporating them, sometimes to comedic effect in the music as well.

... that, uh, Al, in February of '81, turned into Another One Rides the Bus.

Um, and long story short, folks, uh, now "Weird Al" Yankovic is a five-time Grammy Award winner, an, an Emmy winner [laughs] as well for his life story.

So Weird Al's set list, again, came out to, quote-unquote, the Fun Zone intro.

I don't remember what the album was.
