Annie Meyers-Shyer

In the world of interiors, there are designers, architects, artisans, and craftspeople, and these are their stories.

Today we're bringing you a special episode, a conversation with New York Times best-selling author Annie Meyers Shire of This Oak House.

We recorded our conversation live at the Charleston Library Society in front of nearly 400 guests, which was both exhilarating and a bit nerve-wracking.

For those who may not know Annie, she is the daughter of esteemed Hollywood film producers Nancy Meyers and Charles Shire.

Annie grew up around her mother's notable set designs, but did not aspire to be a designer herself.

Instead, she went on to have a very successful career in the publishing and fashion world.

After stepping away to spend more time with her young children, Annie and her husband became the stewards of a beloved family home in Los Angeles.

On a whim, she decided to record in detail the renovation process, from the architectural elements to the paint colors and fabrics.
