So Sterling Point follows 18-year-old Annie Jacobson, who is played by truly remarkable newcomer Ella Rubin.

Um, Annie Jacobson has grown up in a very privileged New York, uh, penthouse apartment type place, and she spends her summer with this fish-out-of-water experience because she learns that she has inherited a remote island in Canada's Muskoka Lake region.

I did not know much about the Muskoka Lake region, but according to my Canadian coworker Rebecca Alter, it is sort of like, if you know Jersey, it's sort of like the LBI of Canada, I think.

You gotta pull it back to some fours and fives.

It's so smart about how well it is able to, to balance those things.

Um, one of the things that I had actually in our notes to talk about is, uh, there is this minor character plot line of really actually very, very sweet queer romance that they are telling alongside the Annie Jacobson main plot.

And she's so good.

She's Annie Jacobson.

That's the role she plays in the show.

She's sort of this, like, tightly wound New York City teen who ends up in an island off of Canada and finds out about the long-lost relative who has left her an island in Canada.

We'll get into all of that once everyone here has watched it.

So our main character, Annie Jacobson, well, I'm like, she's Jewish, right? She lives in Brooklyn in this beautiful brownstone, and her dad is played by Josh Duplass.

She's tightly wound.

The acting, she is phenomenal, the main, the main woman, who is Ella Rubin playing Annie Jacobson, and all of the kind of milieu, if I can use that word.

She meets this, the guy who kind of takes her on a private plane to the island from the mainland, is immediately this hot young guy.
