There was a coalition on federal level of socialists, Greens and liberals.

And the whole country was so fed up because we've got a minister like Annalena Baerbock was a foreign minister of the Greens and Habeck was an industry minister.

Dreen was a minister for industry, stuff like this.

So you can imagine what happened in the country.

The Greens.

But they had, for example, Annalena Baerbock, who recently wanted to do a 360-degree turn on some issues and who said this country is hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from that country and things like that.

Right.

No, you need cobalt for batteries and these things.

Of course, we would need, I mean, to handle that situation, you would need a highly skilled and experienced diplomatic corps.

And let's say it hasn't gotten better, Ms. Wadephul and Annalena Baerbock.

So, I mean, I'm terribly sorry for the few remaining upfront and straightforward officials that are there and that have to suffer from those terrible ministers.

But we would need, I mean...

She'll give 100% knowing that whatever happens, whatever happens, she will be taken care of.

We see it with Annalena Baerbock.

She was a disaster, an absolute disaster as a foreign secretary, as a foreign minister.

the more realistic ones, and the fundis, the more fundamentalists, who were the more left-leaning ones.

But I would say the party nationally has taken more of a real or realistic centrist stance, given the people who have been in leadership, some of the most prominent figures, Anna-Lena Baerbock and Robert Habeck among them, that sort of guided the party more towards a centrist position.

And also them having been in government, you do have to become a little more realistic when you do end up in government, I would say.

So German politics is now getting more boring.

And it seemed to me, Joschka Fischer was instrumental in arguing for this, that he really changed completely the German political left from being anti-interventionist, especially the Green Party, remarkable change, the Green Party, from being anti-interventionist to being one of the most pro-war parties in Europe.

And Annalena Baerbock, you might say, is an intellectual descendant of him.

And so he did play a key role as far as I can tell.

I mean, do you think this was all just, he was bullied by the Americans or did he actually, was there something in it for him? It seemed there was a certain enthusiasm there that seemed to be

It's designed to be more transparent and more inclusive.

It is being spearheaded by Annalena Baerbock, the president of the General Assembly, former German foreign minister, someone who has spent a lot of time talking about how this is a linchpin part of her job this year.

And the US, in what I would describe as kind of like a Scooby-Doo villain move, showed up at the Security Council and was like, "This is not your job."

Yeah.

That you want to assert your authority.

We know at the end of the day, no matter what Annalena Baerbock does, at the end of the day, the US gets to decide who is and isn't an acceptable candidate.
