Anna Lo

Um, the, uh, we had no position on equal marriage at the time, and kind of more social justice issues were difficult for me.

But I loved Anna Lo.

I just thought she was class, and I had written to do work experience with her.

So I'd studied anthropology at London, um, uh, in London.

And eventually a job opened up.

But this is, like, months later, [laughs] a job opened up and I applied for it, and I got it.

And just for the benefit of people who, who maybe don't remember, Anna Lo was a, an MLA here for many years and had come here as a young woman from Hong Kong and married a, a local man, and you worked for her for a long, long time and had a very close professional and, and personal relationship.

And I mean, she, she delivered quite a few firsts as well politically, didn't she? Because she was the only person of a minority ethnic background in the chamber, but also, uh, in Western Europe, I think the first elected, um, representative from Hong Kong to sit in in any-
