Ann Sherry

It could be a best friend.

I mean, for me, the two women who've had the greatest influence on my career and my life and how I feel about myself have been Anne Sherry and Wendy McCarthy, who to this day are still very close friends.

Anne launched my book in Sydney last week.

Wendy's launching the book in Mollingbrook this week.

I think he had the top 150 leaders in the company in the room.

And he looked around and he said, where are all the women and where are all the people of colour? because there just weren't any.

And so one of the first things he did was recruit Anne Sherry out of the prime minister's office.

So she was the secretary for the office as in federal secretary, you know, not type of secretary.

Right.

And do you know, there's a thing, um, uh, Anne, Anne Sherry and Liz Bro- Broderick used to say this when we were building, um, uh, women in STEM.

Um, you know, if you can't see it, you can't be it.

And, and I never really had a entrepreneur role model to kind of look up to.

And particularly at the CEO level, you know, it's not your expertise in that domain that is necessarily going to, you know, deliver an advantage.

And I always think of Anne Sherry.

You know, Anne Sherry went from banking to cruising to on the board of rugby to...

You know, now one of the Queensland universities, it's, you know, you can shift.

So that's great that you said that.
