Ann Davison, former city attorney who lost to Erica Evans, defends these orders, thinks that they're different this time around because, again, the geographic areas are more pinpointed.

And she's saying

basically they never really got a chance to really show, prove their effectiveness.

Well, that's what my story is about.

So in 2024, we had then Mayor Harrell and City Attorney Ann Davison, and there was an appetite to fix the open-air drug market, which people, you know, just using drugs openly, selling them.

And so there was a big push for these.

You know, the city council passed it eight to one.

One member voted against, and then that member, you know, resigned soon thereafter, saying she felt bullied, I believe.

Tammy Morales said that.

So yeah, there was just an appetite to address it, and people from All sides were on it because, you know, Ann Davison, Republican, Mayor Harrell, Democrat.
