Thankfully, it comes to a close with a big time win on the road in San Diego.

The San Jose Earthquakes get a 3-2 win, a brilliant performance from Nico Chakiris, big stops from Angus Gunn, and they now elevate themselves to fifth in the West.

They are five points out of second, only eight points out of Vancouver.

You really hate to start thinking if they had earned six more points in those games versus the Galaxy and probably another three in that game last week versus Austin, the Earthquakes would be in first place overall.

You never look down when a guy has a great performance or bails you out or whatever it is.

But when you watch one guy have a really good team and Nico's ability to facilitate and set everybody else up, that goes a long way.

And then, you know, you can't go any further than Angus Gunn as well.

He made some big stops last night, and he's been criticized for not coming up with more stops.

Uh, Zach Abbott's gone on loan, and Marathos gone on loan, which surprised me a little bit because I thought he was a good backup.

Uh, they lose Willy Boly, Angus Gunn, and Stefan Ortega by choice.
