Angora goat

So like, can you give us, our listeners, like a bird's eye view of what that looks like? Tell us like what type of sheep that you raise.

I have in my notes that you've got Merino sheep, right? And Angora goats.

So- Yeah, kind of give us the rundown on that so we can wrap our head around it.

And then we'll get into the policy next

So I'm getting paid to do that to graze them.

And I'm also selling wool and mohair.

The Angora goats are really perfect for the jobs of the smaller jobs of grazing around Reno because you can fit more of them on a trailer.

They're such a small animal.

And so that's where we really started looking at how can we create different enterprises with poultry.

And we got Angora goats.

I never got around to learning how to um spin but she is my happy knitter she loves taking care of the animals and so that's been like a whole other area of growth and so thinking about being flexible because the other barrier we ran into with the greenhouse, it's just been these crazy temperature spikes in early summer, in early spring here in New York.

So when I say early, I mean like March, sometimes in February, we'll get a temperature spike.

And then we got into goats a wee bit later.

Angora goats was a big thing.

And that sort of died away.

But now my brother runs dairy support.

And that's the way it was.

Will we ever see that sort of boom again? Well, we've had the odd thing.

People who got into Angora Goats did very well, but it didn't last.

Pigs come and go, but the sheep was what really started it.

Yeah.

So then we became great lovers of the Angora goats and, and the fiber that they produce and which we still make, which it's that blend.
