Angelina Anderson

I'm, I'm gonna give Sam Kerr on my score sheet the shot on goal.

Um, she had a nice cross sent in, headed down into the ground, not quite with velocity at the goal, and this allowed ultimately Angelina Anderson to make somewhat of an easy save on it.

She had to react, but this is something that I think this game i- is really showing some of the, the frustration that, that can be there with what Sam Kerr is bringing to the table for Gotham right now.

Just kind of dutting some shots, not getting the power on the headers even though she's getting up to win them and looks like a threat that way.

Mm-hmm.

You know, and I think there was a lot of questions when Didi left, you know, we're gonna give the reins to Angelina Anderson, but sometimes you say, listen, we're gonna, we're gonna develop the goalkeeper that we want to be a franchise goalkeeper, and she's been here, and we're gonna put our trust in her.

And, you know, s- instead of just going out and trying to cherry-pick goalkeepers and try to fit them into your system, you're gonna develop-

Yeah

Yeah.

So I, I look at this team and, and, and also Angelina Anderson is having a great season.

So they're just getting like...

There's no sort of standout or star-making performance that's happened here, but what you have is a lot of balance, and that's not something that Angel City's been able to say-

I'm not seeing the player that I think is the number one for the United States and they keep it moving.

And that's why you bring in Silkewitz and that's why you bring in Angelina Anderson for the U23s.

We'll talk about the U23s a little bit in a second because they are They have a part to play here as well.

So those were the bigger surprises, right? These were the players that we know had been playing well.

I don't know.

I don't know exactly what she gets out of that.

Angelina Anderson is another good example.

She's going to be playing with the U23s.

It was rough this weekend.

40th minute, Rodman on the break, cuts inside, but it's Angelina Anderson there to save it, Ali.

Yeah, she's doing really well though here, one-v-one, taking players on, you know, making it difficult to defend, and then sees a slight opening, but good positioning from the goalkeeper to be able to save that.

You could've easily said that statement here with Priska Chylusia too taking on [laughs] a one-v-one.

Again, if not for 27, let's talk about 28.

There's also Angelina Anderson, who has been putting some really nice shifts together for Angel City.

She is comfortable with the ball at her feet.

She's less efficient in springing play forward, but she doesn't really have as many dips in her play.
