This was my first time watching Sense and Sensibility.

exactly um okay not as hot takes it's so funny like i was thinking about the angley of this right it's so funny based on his filmography Ang Lee is so good at filming people in rooms talking, you know, it's just like, because you, because I think that now, because we think of his later stuff, you think, oh, Ang Lee, you're thinking like visual spectacle, right? So Crouching Tiger, Life of Pi, these sort of, you know, expansive things.

But then when you think about what Ang Lee is actually really good at, it's this, it's Brokeback Mountain.

However...

i actually think that the movie should contend for more i actually am very surprised that focus features did not bring this to a single fall film festival because i think that would have possibly have given it a better perception in the eyes of people as an awards contender I understand that they did not want to draw heavy comparisons to Ang Lee's film, which is still heralded as a masterpiece by many.

So I get the reason to kind of be more strategic about how they're rolling it out to people.

Based on the social media reactions, responses seem to be really positive though.

And the thing I suppose that shocked me the most when I was researching this was to realise that the Ang Lee version is is more than 30 years old.

It was from 1995 because in my head it seemed like only 15 or at the most 20 years ago.
