Anfernee Orji

Uh, and you know, if they don't sign Asante, they probably will still sign a linebacker.

Uh, they also worked out three other linebackers on Wednesday: Kobe King, Anfernee Orji, and Jamon Johnson.

So those are the candidates.

Seems like Eugene Asante won the job.

Starting with roster moves, with only one healthy running back in Will Shipley available, the Birds have elevated running back Damien Pierce from the practice squad, signing him to the active roster.

Additionally, the Birds waived linebacker Anfernee Orji to make room to sign offensive lineman James Brockermeyer.

Brockermeyer was signed to the Falcons practice squad after going undrafted but was released back in September.

He played at the University of Alabama, TCU, and finally the University of Miami, where he earned first team All-Pro All-American honors while helping the Hurricanes make an incredible playoff run to get all the way to the college playoff national championships.
