In the lab next door, Professor Martha Clokie and co-director of the project, Dr. Andy Millard, showed me what was in store for my sample as they process from poo to DNA sequence

We take a spot, so a small drop of that, and we spot it on top to quickly screen to see whether or not there is any viruses present.

And if there are, you can see we start to get clearing in the middle.
