Uh, so it's just a magic time to revisit and to be able to sit and talk with him.

And then Andy Kubert, that is by far and away the, the longest conversation I have ever had with one Mr. Andy Kubert.

Not the longest conversation I've had with Jeph Loeb.

The, the-- [laughs] W- we have chewed up three-plus hours, uh, on, on the phone with each other before.

Re- Jeff and Jim got it started again with "Hush." Uh, you know, may- maybe it was Frank Miller's "Dark Knight" sequel.

Um, then obviously you, you had the, the, the success of the books coming out of the 52.

Then you had, uh, the, the, I mean, what we talked about with Andy Kubert, the, uh, Master Race, "The Dark Knight III" was a giant, huge initiative.

Tons of, of, I mean, so much spending and marketing, uh, to, to, to, to put that book, uh, at top of mind for everybody in the business.

So from 1989 to 1999, what happened in those 10 years of comic books? You had Gambit.

Andy Kubert was really killing it.

You had Onslaught.

You had the Age of Apocalypse.

I read the first issue of Terminal, which is a new comic series that has come out from Image Comics, written by Robert Kirkman, creator of Invincible, The Walking Dead, and numerous other things.

And drawn by Andy Kubert, who is one of the most well-known illustrators of the last 40 years.

It's being billed as sort of the next big superhero thing coming from Image.

Obviously got heavyweight talent behind it.

Written by Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello, although from what I understand, this was really Azzarello's baby, and I think Frank Miller has even said as much in interviews.

But officially written by Miller and Azzarello, pencils by Andy Kubert, and inks by a returning Klaus Janssen, who of course was not there for Dark Knight Strikes Again, and we talked all about the visual look in that book, but he's back here on inks.

And the titular master race that we're referring to here are the Kandorians.

We had all of this business in Dark Knight Strikes Again about the captive bottle city of Kandor.

Uh, the next book for me is called "Terminal Image Comics".

This is written by Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey, art by Andy Kubert, uh, Dave McCaig, who we're big fans of on the show, colorist, and Russ Wooten is a letterer.

So this book is supposed to be kind of modeled after the '90s X-Men books, like the '90s, uh, groups, like superhero groups.

The first issue did not, was, I was not a huge fan of but I decided to keep going because it, it did scratch that nostalgic itch that I have for that time period.
