Like no qualms whatsoever, you just walked right into those shoes and never looked back.

Andy KubertGUEST
I was never – not that I didn't know who Spider-Man or even the X-Men were, but I didn't have that kind of history the way you guys did.

Andy KubertGUEST
I was more a DC guy and mostly because my dad, who was an editor and artist at DC – brought home only dc books it was only later on that he brought home marvel books uh so i didn't really have that connect or that connection with with those characters and that history i knew that okay working on these books were a big deal and i love what you guys are doing i totally influenced by you guys you can see it in my work um So it just kind of made sense.

Andy KubertGUEST
And I guess when I was looking for work at the time, Bob would call me pretty much every day asking me, hey, would you want to do something? Would you want to do something for us? And at the time, I think I was drawing, like you said, Doc Savage, and I had other things going on, and I really didn't know that much about the X-Men at all.

I thought back

Andy KubertGUEST
and there's a lot of things that I didn't want harking back to because a lot of stuff i i'm really very critical right i'm my own worst critic i'm really bad about it so i look back at some of that stuff and i don't want to repeat it you know so uh so i'm trying to find a mix between uh kind of like what i do now and what i know now as far as drawing layout design and all that kind of stuff and what i did back then but there are things that i did back then that i still want to incorporate into this stuff I wanted to get that.

No, I, uh, I went to Rochester Institute of Technology for, I think six, six months a long time ago.

Andy KubertGUEST
So, uh, when I called my mom and dad, I said, "Hey, th- this isn't working out." You know, I didn't really-- I was having a good time at college, but I just, A, didn't wanna waste my time or, B, waste their money.

Uh, so I wanted to get pretty much, um, a happy medium between modern stuff and, and that.

Andy KubertGUEST
Um, and plus bouncing the ideas back and forth off of, uh, uh, Robert was, um...

Andy KubertGUEST
Doing, working like that just opens up a, a whole 'nother, uh, chapter into how to approach things and to just to get a different approach.
